Gate.io is Delisting STBU. Here’s What We’re Doing About It
We need to be direct with you. Gate.io is delisting Stobox Token (STBU) due to low trading volumes. This is their decision, and it’s one we have to own the responsibility for.
For years, we believed that a utility token alone could bridge the gap between the crypto community and institutional asset tokenization. We were wrong to let that belief shape our capital allocation decisions. When trading volumes declined, we lacked the resources to maintain consistent market making. No excuses. That’s on us.
What made it harder: in February 2026, an exploit at MEXC resulted in the loss of our remaining token reserves. We’re pursuing every legal avenue available, but that process is blocked, and there’s no clear resolution timeline. Right now, we don’t have those tokens, and we don’t have a date when we will. That compounds the immediate situation.
So yes, STBU is being delisted from Gate.io. And yes, we should have managed our token economics and our treasury differently.
But here’s what’s also true: Stobox is not stopping. The core of what we built — the tokenization infrastructure, the Stobox Compass, STV3 Protocol, Stobox 4, institutional client relationships that are profitable and growing — none of that disappears because trading volume on a centralized exchange declined.
The token was always meant to be a bridge. We’re just being more honest about what that bridge actually is.
The Path Forward
We have three concrete initiatives in motion.
First: Decentralized Trading
We’re moving STBU to decentralized liquidity pools. The moment we recover financially or secure capital, DEX trading through Uniswap and other protocols will replace centralized exchange access. Decentralized means we don’t depend on any single exchange’s listing criteria or volume thresholds. It also means you maintain control of your tokens without KYC or custody risk.
We’ll announce the timing when it’s confirmed.
Second: STBU to STBX Conversion
The more important transition is structural. STBX is our security token representing real equity in Stobox companies. It’s backed by actual business value and reflects your stake in a company with growing institutional client relationships and subscription revenue.
STBX is regulated and represents ownership, not speculation. This is the rational outcome when you have a real business with real revenue and real growth. Utility tokens are for speculation. Equity tokens are for ownership.
The conversion mechanics will roll out in Q2 2026: STBU holders will have the ability to convert their holdings into STBX through a formal mechanism. This is how we transition from token-dependent economics to equity-backed participation.
Third: Platform Utility
Starting in end Q2 and into early Q3 2026, we’re embedding STBU directly into Stobox Compass and our broader platform stack. You’ll use STBU to access premium features, unlock wallets, and pay for computational access. We’re not creating artificial demand. We’re rooting token utility in actual product use: faster asset screening, advanced analytics, integration layers. If you use Stobox Compass, you’ll want STBU in your wallet.
This is how you build sustainable token value. Not through exchange listings. Through product.
Why We’re Still Here
Seven years of building. One hundred-plus client engagements. Twenty jurisdictions. Four continents. A security token program. STBX backing real equity.
We didn’t build all of that because we thought crypto was easy. We built it because the tokenization thesis is real, and because we were stubborn enough to keep going when most people stopped.
The exploit was a setback. The market making constraints cost us a Gate.io listing. These are real setbacks. But a delisting from a centralized exchange is not a failure of the underlying business model or the core thesis.
Stobox is in the business of building infrastructure for real-world asset tokenization at scale. That’s what we do. The token is part of that ecosystem. The infrastructure is what will generate value for token holders over the next decade.
We’re going to move forward on that basis.
For Token Holders
If you hold STBU, here’s what you need to know:
- Your tokens are not disappearing. They remain valid utility tokens on Ethereum, Arbitrum and its compatible chains.
- DEX trading access is coming as soon as we have the capital or financing to execute it.
- The STBU to STBX conversion path is coming. Through the mechanism outlined above, you’ll have the ability to convert your holdings and participate in real equity ownership.
- Starting in end Q2 and into early Q3 2026, STBU utility on Stobox Compass will give you a reason to actually use the token, not just hold it.
We recognize that a delisting is not what you wanted to hear. We also recognize that it happened because we failed to allocate capital appropriately, and we’re not going to hide from that or dress it up.
But we are going to recover. We are going to rebuild. And we’re going to do it by staying true to what we’re good at: building infrastructure that works.
The team has every intention to recover. We will do our best to continue operations and to execute on the commitments we’ve made to you.
Thank you for being here. This is the kind of moment that separates the builders from the quitters. We’re builders.
